A SEEING EYES PART 2

Matthew 6:22

"If therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light"

Man is a living being whose existence is engineered spiritually. Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

It is this breath that carries the vision of a man. Therefore, a man cannot exist independent of the spirit (breath) office God.

The vision of a man is so crucial that it decides almost every aspect of his life. Losing one's vision means losing one's purpose.

We shall be looking into how a man's vision determines his reach i.e how far he goes.

Let's look at Samson as a case study, a very powerful man who didn't go far despite his potentials and abilities in God.

He was mandated to be the deliverer of Israel from the dominion of the philistines who oppressed the Israelites; but he went about that mandate depending on his strength. (Self)

Quickly, it was only recorded that Samson prayed twice and this prayers came only at times when his desires were beyond his strength. As powerful as Jesus was, he never ignored the importance of prayer as the major means to steady and sharpen one's vision in God.

Prayer is the language of the dependent. A pride person cannot pray and a prayerful person cannot be proud for his strength is drawn from the help of God.

Samson's focus shifted from divine purpose to self aggrandizement due to lack of adequate and quality time with God.

Samson became blind, and disregarded the counsel of his parents the moment he saw a woman from the uncircumcised Philistines who he decided to marry at all cost. At this moment, it seems Samson went ahead of God and trusted his own vision the same way lot trusted his and was far gone into Sodom, the land of destruction.

Samson's journey ended abruptly, the moment he lost his physical sight which he trusted more than that of the spirit, as he went in with a harlot Delilah.

Judges 16:1 NKJV

[1] Now Samson went to Gaza and saw a harlot there, and went in to her.

Lack of spiritual sight (vision) influenced Samson's association with death. Power is good and we must contend for it to birth certain dimensions of results, but power without vision is death.

The moment Delilah successfully delivered Samson to his enemies, the first agenda was to pluck out his eyes. This is to show how powerful a man's vision is, as a supposed deliverer became an entertainer.

Samson lived his last moment on borrowed vision and borrowed vision don't guarantee success.

If you don't pray, you disassociate from God to self. Meanwhile, the direction of the flesh ends in destruction.

PRAYER:

LOR HELP MY EYES BE SINGLE SO I DON'T WALK IN DARKNESS. AMEN 🙏
